Technical Support

The following are known issues identified at product release.

Opera Browsers

Performing "Speak" or "Speak All" is not supported using Opera Browsers. It is strongly suggested that if you wish to have text read from a browser you use Microsoft Internet Explorer.

Manually Set Camera Resolution

When using some devices (e.g. the HTC TyTN I) it is not possible to drive the camera resolution programmatically and therefore it is necessary to manually set the camera resolution to the highest setting each time a picture is captured via CapturaTalk.

Threaded SMS Text Messages

Because Threaded SMS Text Messages provide the user with text input to enter a reply, performing "Speak All" will not read the complete thread of the text message. In order to invoke "Speak All" simply tap on the screen area for the Threaded Messages and then invoke "Speak All".

Overflow Title Bar

If the device receives a notification such as an email, SMS message, voice mail, missed call, etc. then an icon is placed on title bar at the same position as the CapturaTalk "always active" menu. In this situation the device will show an overflow title bar which shows the CapturaTalk menu and the current notification(s). On some devices the CapturaTalk menu will not operate on the overflow title bar and therefore it is necessary to clear all notifications in order for the menu to reappear on the main title bar.

System Status Screen when using the CapturaTalk "always active" menu

When using HTC Touch Flow devices, tapping the CapturaTalk "always active" menu may show a "System Status" screen. This facility can be turned off in TouchFlow version 3.0 and above as follows:

Microsoft Reader & Mobipocket Reader

This version of CapturaTalk does not support reading from Microsoft Reader and Mobipocket Reader.
