User Interface Basics

There are three primary components to the CapturaTalk user interface:

CapturaTalk Desktop

1. The "Always Active CapturaTalk menu" which appears as the CapturaTalk logo in the notification area.

2. The "CapturaTalk main window" which provides access to the Camera utility, recent files, older files and settings.


CapturaTalk toolbar

3. The "CapturaTalk toolbar" which displays when viewing images or when speaking text from applications. The toolbar provides access to all playback features and the Concise Oxford English Dictionary.


Always Active CapturaTalk menu

This useful menu is accessed by tapping the CapturaTalk icon in the notification area. The menu allows you to quickly access the following core features:

CapturaTalk Main Window

This window acts as your access point to previously captured images, the Camera utility and CapturaTalk Settings.

The window is divided into two sections. The upper section contains buttons that link to other places such as your devices Camera utility or the Settings window. The lower section provides access to images you have already taken and contains a "Play" button that will load your selected file to be read.

CapturaTalk Tool Bar

When viewing images with CapturaTalk, imported by either your Camera utility or by selecting an existing image file, you will be presented with the image and the CapturaTalk toolbar. The toolbar has the following features, some of which will be greyed out if no text is selected:
